A brokerage firm is a person who arranges the transportation of goods from one location to another and includes things such as shipping containers, vehicles, animals, and plant transportation. Brokerages help shippers move their goods from the place where they are produced to the place where they are used by customers.
freight brokering is the act of transportation of freight, either by land, sea, or air, for another party, most often by a third party that specializes in intermodal transportation. It differs from a traditional freight forwarder in that freight brokerage does not have its own warehouse.
