Sea Freight and Consolidated Shipping from Singapore
HBK moves Singapore cargo by sea. We do not run an air or express lane on this route, so if you need a package in Manila by Friday, an express courier is the faster choice. Express and postal services charge a premium per kilo for speed; sea freight through a forwarder costs less, carries far more, and comes with someone responsible for the customs entry.
Goods depart our warehouse within 48 to 72 hours of receipt, and our published sea transit range is 21 to 30 days. Treat that as a range rather than a promise, because customs, documents and your destination all move the final date. Consolidation is where most clients save: orders from several suppliers are combined and exported as one shipment under one entry.
Customs, Duties, Taxes and Required Documents
Imports are assessed by the Bureau of Customs under the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act, Republic Act 10863. Shipments are sorted into selectivity lanes: green releases automatically, yellow triggers a document review, and red means physical examination.
Shipments with an FOB value not exceeding ₱10,000 are generally exempt from duty and VAT under the de minimis rule. Above that, 12% VAT applies on the CIF value, meaning goods, insurance and freight combined, plus customs duty based on the HS code of the item. A clear description of the goods on the commercial invoice, plus a packing list that matches the boxes, is most of what a smooth release requires. Vague descriptions and mismatched declared values are what hold cargo at the port. Our team ensures the entry is filed against exactly what you provide, but those details have to come from you. For eligible shipments handled under HBK, your quote is prepared to include shipping, customs duties, taxes and delivery based on the shipment details provided. Final amounts can change if the declared details, classification, value or customs assessment changes. Payment falls due once your cargo has arrived and is ready for release.
Parcels, Clothing, Packages and Online Purchases
You can send parcels as readily as pallets, and a small one needs the same care, because customs does not grade on effort. Twenty pieces, cotton t-shirts tells an examiner something useful. Assorted items tells them to open the box. Declare the value accurately, describe the specific item clearly, and give a complete delivery address rather than a landmark. Sea freight also means weeks of handling and stacking, so proper cartons and sealed seams prevent damage in transit.
Check that what you are sending is allowed before you buy. E-cigarettes, vapes, hazardous materials and other restricted goods will not clear. If you are unsure about a specific item, message us and we will check it.
If you bought online, note this early: you cannot select HBK as your courier at checkout on Alibaba, AliExpress or most Singapore storefronts. Tell the seller you are using your own forwarder, then give them your HBK Customer ID and your Singapore supplier link.
Tracking, Insurance and Delivery Support
Tracking on this route runs on the barcode. Your supplier opens the Singapore supplier link using your Customer ID, prints the label, and attaches one to every box. That barcode carries your shipment through our system and lets you view its progress. Handwritten labels are the most common way cargo gets lost, so ask your supplier to photograph the boxes with labels attached before dispatch.
