What Affects FCL Shipping Costs and FCL Rates?
FCL rates aren’t a single number. Any forwarder who quotes one before seeing your documents is working from assumptions. Shipping costs depend on:
• Container type and container size
• Cargo volume, cargo weight, and any special handling
• Origin country and the Philippine port of entry
• Vessel schedule and seasonal demand, since peak periods tighten space and move rates
• Port handling and terminal charges
• Customs clearance, duties, and customs taxes, which follow your HS codes
• Reefer requirements, where applicable
• Final delivery, plus storage or demurrage if documents are incomplete on arrival

Customs Clearance and Documents for FCL Shipments
A full container gets no shortcut through the Bureau of Customs — if anything, containers draw more scrutiny, because the declared value is higher. Under the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (RA 10863), every declaration is assigned a lane: green releases automatically, yellow triggers a document review, red means physical examination. Which lane you land in depends heavily on your paperwork and HS codes, which is why importers who lose weeks lose them at the desk, not out at sea.
For FCL shipments, prepare a commercial invoice, packing list, declared value, cargo weight, country of origin, HS codes if known, supplier and container details, and any import permits your goods require.

Estimated transit times depend on route, vessel schedule, port handling, customs clearance, and delivery. We’d rather give a realistic window than a date we can’t hold.
As a general reference, our sea freight from Asia typically runs around 21 to 30 days, though vessel schedules and seasonal demand move that. Once the container reaches the Philippine port, port handling and customs clearance happen before release, and delays there trace back to documents or unpaid duties far more often than to the shipping line.
After release, we deliver.
