Review formats
Document review.
The most widely available option. Covers supplier documents, certificates, production records, and factory-supplied information. It is a paper-based check and is not equivalent to seeing the site in person.
Live video facility walkthrough
Often possible, but subject to supplier cooperation. A guided video tour of production areas, machinery, and storage. Coverage depends on what the supplier agrees to show.
Third-party audit support
Available in many manufacturing regions through independent audit providers. We help define the audit scope, brief the auditor, and interpret the findings for your order.
On-site factory visit
Availability varies by factory location, timing, and service arrangement, and is strongest in the regions our China-side team and warehouses cover. It is not available for every factory or every city. We confirm case by case, subject to supplier cooperation and location.
Audit types
General factory audit
Reviews the factory profile, operations, production capability, and basic management systems.
Quality audit
Focuses on quality management systems, quality control systems, quality assurance practices, process controls, and product quality risks.
Process audit
Reviews the manufacturing process, production process, standard operating procedures, production records, and process controls, step by step.
Specialist scopes cover labor practices, workplace safety, ethical practices, and facility security. They are usually requested when your own customers demand documented supplier due diligence. Each must be agreed before the audit is arranged, because none can be added once an auditor is already on site.
Social compliance audits.
May review labor practices, workplace safety, fair wages, ethical practices, and compliance standards, where included in the agreed scope. They flag non-compliance risks and support more ethical supply chains. They do not issue a legal clearance, and international labor law compliance cannot be certified without a proper legal audit scope.
Environmental audits
May review waste management, environmental standards, environmental regulations, environmental impact, and storage or disposal practices, where that scope is agreed before the audit. An environmental audit reviews practices only. It is not environmental compliance certification.
Security audits
May review access control, facility security, warehouse and shipping-area security, and security protocols, where the scope allows. This can include customs trade partnership requirements for buyers who need them. A security audit checks practice, not certification.
Quality management systems and product quality
For most buyers, quality is where a factory audit earns its keep. A factory can look impressive up front and still struggle to repeat that quality across a full production run.
